Shipping and Delivery
Thank you for shopping at The Fabric Counter. We aim to make your online shopping experience as straightforward as possible. This policy explains the terms relating to shipping, delivery and returns for products purchased through our website.
Order Processing Times
Orders are typically processed and delivered within 2–3 working days. Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, shipping method and courier.
Processing and delivery may take longer during peak periods (October–December) or due to unforeseen circumstances. For orders placed in November or December, please allow up to 7 working days to receive your order.
Shipping Rates
We offer a range of shipping methods for convenience and flexibility. Our preferred courier is DPD, although we may use An Post depending on the delivery location and package dimensions.
For international orders, shipping rates are displayed at checkout based on your location and order dimensions.
Delivery Times
Delivery is usually within 2–3 working days. For orders placed in November or December, please allow up to 7 working days for delivery.
These times are estimates. Actual delivery times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or courier delays.
Order Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Use the tracking number provided to follow your delivery on the courier’s website.
Customs & Duties
For UK and international orders, customs fees, import duties and taxes may apply when your parcel arrives in your country. Any additional customs clearance charges are the recipient’s responsibility.
We recommend contacting your local customs office for information about potential fees or taxes before placing your order.
Sustainability
At The Fabric Counter, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We use eco-friendly packaging wherever possible and avoid excessive packaging to minimise waste. Most of our packaging materials are recycled or biodegradable. Our branded mailing bags are made from 100% recycled materials and are fully recyclable.
Where possible, we use tissue paper instead of plastic to wrap orders. We have reduced our single-use plastic usage by over 90% in the past year. We encourage you to recycle or reuse the packaging you receive from us.
Address Accuracy
Please ensure that the shipping address you provide at checkout is accurate and complete. We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address.
Fabric Suitability & Returns
Customers are responsible for choosing fabric that meets their requirements for measurements, quality, colour, design and suitability. Please consider your requirements carefully and use our fabric sampling service if you are unsure whether a fabric is suitable for your project.
We recommend ordering all the fabric you need at the same time, as slight colour variations may occur between dye lots.
Custom-cut fabric and the right to cancel
Fabric cut specifically to your individual measurements or bespoke requirements is a customised, made-to-specification product. Where the statutory exception for custom-made goods applies, this fabric is excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind right to cancel or return. Choosing a standard pre-set length or option does not automatically make an item customised for this purpose. This exclusion does not affect your statutory rights if the fabric is faulty, not as described or incorrectly supplied.
Order Mistakes or Damaged Items
All our fabrics are cut to your specified measurements and checked for quality before dispatch. When your order arrives, please check that the items are correct, measure the fabric and inspect it for damage before cutting or altering it in any way.
Please check your order promptly and contact us as soon as you discover a mistake or damage. We ask that you report visible issues within 7 days where possible; this is a practical request and does not limit your statutory rights or legal time limits.
If you discover a fault, please email info@thefabriccounter.ie immediately with a photograph of the damage. Include your email address, order reference number, a description of the problem and your contact number. We will respond promptly to arrange the return of your purchase for examination.
If a fault on our part is confirmed, we will offer a replacement or a full refund and reimburse your postage costs.
Please send returned items in their original condition where possible. For statutory change-of-mind cancellations, send the goods back within 14 days after notifying us, to:

North Brunswick Street

Undelivered Packages
If your order has not arrived, we recommend contacting the courier directly using the tracking details in your shipping confirmation email. If the courier cannot locate your parcel, we will escalate the issue with them.
If you have not received your goods within 2 weeks of your shipping confirmation email, please contact us immediately.
If your parcel is lost in transit, we can dispatch your order again once the courier confirms that it has been lost or has not been signed for.
Please report a missing parcel as soon as possible so we can investigate with the courier. A 30-day reporting request does not restrict your statutory rights where goods have not been delivered.
Your Right to Cancel an Online Purchase
Custom-cut fabric: Fabric cut to your requested measurements is excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind right to cancel as it is classed as a customised product. Your rights for faulty or incorrectly supplied goods are unaffected.
For eligible online goods, you can notify us of cancellation before delivery or within 14 days after receipt of the last item in your order, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back. Use Cancel your order, or send a clear cancellation statement to info@thefabriccounter.ie. See the cancellation section in our Terms & Conditions for the full process, refund information, costs and exceptions. The deadlines below for reporting problems do not restrict your statutory rights.
